What will you do as a Graphic Designer (Illustrator) at HOMAGE?

Our Graphic Designers create unique artwork that captures stories about current and past events, colleges, sports teams and personalities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Works with the graphics team to create designs that capture storytelling in line with our vintage aesthetic.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, local events, and events to create new designs for future products.
  • Maintains a constant knowledge of HOMAGE products, local environment, and react through new designs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Through vintage shopping, archive digs, marketing and internet research, graphic designers develop graphic concepts that are uniquely HOMAGE.
  • Manages completion of assigned weekly designs in line with due dates. Works with manager and/or the Director of Graphic Design on corrections according to feedback received.
  • Visualizes finished artwork on specific silhouettes and adjusts designs as needed.
  • Completes graphic checklist (trademarks, logos, authenticity, grammar, etc.) before the submission of artwork.
  • Ensures all completed graphics are clean and sends all vector artwork to the Director of Graphic Design. Makes changes and/or corrections based on the feedback received.
  • Works with the Production Art team on complex artwork and files to ensure the execution of the design is correct.
  • Provides guidance and advice to Junior level designers and/or interns.
  • Supervises graphic design interns: provides weekly assignments, feedback, and guidance. Approves all timesheets and ensures interns have a well-rounded experience at HOMAGE.
  • Meets with third party partners for direction and inspiration for the design.
  • Participates in hindsight, pitch, and product meetings to brainstorm and conceptualize ideas as needed.
  • Maintains a knowledge of HOMAGE products, sales overview/history, and calendar.
  • Participates in trainings and meetings as needed.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications


What are we looking for in a Graphic Designer (Illustrator) at HOMAGE?

  • At least 3 years as a professional Graphic Designer/Illustrator
  • Four year degree, or equivalent experience in a related field, a plus but not required
  • Proven experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Organized with an ability to meet all deadlines
  • Open to feedback and critique and a willingness to learn
  • Team player with strong communication skills.
